Every result on page one is a directory. Capterra on four country domains, GetApp on two, a pair of compare stubs, and two results that are not even Knowify. Nobody on that page read the plan table, so we did.
Two scans free, no card asked for.
Knowify is job management for trade contractors doing commercial and residential work, and it is built tightly around QuickBooks. Estimates and proposals, fixed price contracts, change orders, scheduling, time tracking with geofenced clock in, progress billing, and AIA pay applications with G702 and G703, retainage tracking and schedules of values.
If you run commercial jobs that bill on pay applications and your books live in QuickBooks Online, that is a serious tool and this page is not going to talk you out of it. Their own line is that they help trade contractors bid, manage and invoice commercial and residential jobs, and that is a fair description of what the software does.
The reason people land on a page like this one is not usually that Knowify is bad. It is that the plan they were quoted did not hold the feature they were promised.
Core includes one user. Their pricing page shows two figures for it, 99 and 149 a month, with a yearly and monthly toggle at the top and no label saying which number belongs to which. Advanced includes ten users and shows 329 and 399 the same way. Extra users are 29 a month. Enterprise is quote only with unlimited users. Ask them which figure is the annual rate, because the page does not say.
Now the part the directories skip. Straight off Knowify's own comparison table, Core does not include job costing, project budgets, project planning and tracking, real time WIP reporting, cost plus or time and materials contracts, subcontracts, calculated cost templates, daily logs, work orders, the client portal, or Zapier.
Job costing is the thing people recommend Knowify for. It starts on Advanced. So if you came in on the strength of a 99 dollar headline, the plan that does what you read about is the 329 one, and that is before the add ons: Service Pro, equipment and tool tracking, prevailing wage and inventory are all billed separately, and two of those showed no price at all on the page when we read it.
Figures read off their pricing page on 2 November 2026, which carried a May edit date, so confirm before you budget.
Their estimating page is honest if you read it closely. You enter the units, square feet or yards, and the software calculates cost against your labor, material, equipment and subcontractor figures. Reusable budget templates let you save a past job and start from it, and calculated cost templates do the arithmetic for a line item, on Advanced and above.
What none of it does is produce the quantity. Their own estimating FAQ says takeoff data is imported from construction software such as STACK. Document markup, which is Enterprise only, lets you mark up plans, PDFs and job photographs to communicate scope, and marking up a photograph is not measuring one.
That is the hole in every Knowify review ever written. The software sits downstream of the number. The number still comes off a tape, in a room you drove to, on a Saturday.
| Knowify | ScanToScope | |
|---|---|---|
| Where the quantities come from | You on site, or imported from a takeoff tool such as STACK | The capture the homeowner makes before anybody drives out |
| Who has to be at the property | You or one of your crew | Her, with the phone she already carries |
| What the client installs | Nothing. Their client portal opens on a secure link, on Advanced and above | Nothing. The scan link opens in her browser |
| What the price is built from | Your budgets and templates, against the units you type in | The cost book you loaded, line by line |
| Entry price for the headline feature | Job costing begins on Advanced, listed at 329 and 399 a month with ten users | Solo at 79 a month, one user, twenty scans |
Knowify figures read off their pricing and estimating pages on 2 November 2026. The pricing page shows two figures per plan without saying which is the annual rate.
A recent iPhone Pro reads the room with its depth sensor. Any other phone falls back to her photographs plus the sizes she enters.
Every photograph goes up the moment she takes it, so one dead spot in the house does not cost you the set.
The scope is priced against the cost book you loaded. No model inventing your rates and no catalogue you did not write.
We are not a Knowify replacement and swapping one for the other would be a mistake. Knowify runs the job once it is sold: the contract, the change order, the pay application, the books. We run the ten minutes before you decide whether to get in the truck at all. Those are different products that happen to appear on the same directory pages.
Plenty of shops would be right to carry both, and the join is Zapier, which Knowify lists on Advanced and above and which is how we connect to a CRM. Nobody has wired that particular pairing up and tested it, us included, so treat it as something to try rather than something either of us ships.
The reason to read this page at all is the plan table. If you are about to buy Core expecting job costing, that is the expensive mistake, and it has nothing to do with us.
Not on Core. Their own plan table puts job costing, project budgets, project planning and tracking and real time WIP reporting on Advanced and Enterprise. Core carries estimates and proposals, fixed price contracts, change orders, scheduling, time tracking, progress billing and AIA pay applications, with one user included.
Their pricing page shows Core at 99 and 149 a month with one user, Advanced at 329 and 399 with ten users, extra users at 29 a month, and Enterprise on request. The page has a yearly and monthly toggle but does not label which figure is which, so ask them. Several add ons are priced separately and two showed no figure at all. Read on 2 November 2026.
No. Their estimating FAQ says takeoff data is imported from construction software such as STACK. You enter the units and Knowify calculates the cost against your labor, material, equipment and subcontractor rates. There is no measurement of a room, a drawing or a photograph anywhere in it.
No, and you should not buy it as one. There is no contract, no change order, no pay application, no QuickBooks sync and no job costing here. We cover the measure and quote step that happens before the job exists.
For a lot of shops that is the sensible answer. Qualify and price the lead from a scan she takes herself, then let Knowify run the job once it is sold. We connect to a CRM through Zapier and Knowify lists Zapier on Advanced and above, but nobody has tested that pairing, so take it as a thing to try.
No. The link opens in the browser on her phone. No app, no store account, nothing to download.
