Contractor+, which plenty of people type as Contractor Plus, runs the CRM, the schedule, the invoices and a draft estimate. What it does not do, and does not claim to do, is measure the room. That still means you, a tape and a drive.
Not a business system. One step, done properly.
Page one for Contractor+ alternative is Projul, BidOrca, CB Insights, Capterra, Software Advice, SpotSaas and GetApp. One of the results is the Wikipedia article on construction contracts, which tells you Google is not entirely sure what the phrase means either.
The real pages all compare the same way. A table of features beside a table of prices. CRM, scheduling, invoicing, time clock, client portal, payments. Every alternative named is another system that does all of it, and the argument is always about which column has more ticks in it.
Quite a lot, to be fair. CRM, project management, scheduling, estimates and quotes with saved line item templates, invoicing and collections, a client portal, a time clock, mileage, payments, a business phone line, and an AI estimator that drafts from your cost book, supplier price lookups and a labor rate index. There is a free plan with a cap on how many estimates you can send in a month.
It is a business system. If you are running jobs out of a notebook and a text thread, something like that is a real upgrade, and this page is not an argument against buying one.
Read their estimating pages closely and you find the assumption every tool in that category makes. The quantities are already known. You can hand it photos, drawings, even a competing quote, and it will draft an estimate around what you gave it. What it does not do is measure the room.
So the dimensions still come from you, with a tape or a laser, standing in the house, after the drive. That is the line item nobody puts on a comparison table. An hour on the road and an hour in the kitchen, on every lead, including the three in five that were never going to sign anything.
ScanToScope does that one step. The homeowner opens a link on her own phone with nothing to install and captures her own room. A recent iPhone Pro measures it with LiDAR. Any other phone falls back to photos plus typed room sizes. A vision model reads the photos, a model writes the scope brief, renders are generated, and the scope prices against your own cost book.
| Contractor+ | ScanToScope | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A business system for the whole job | The measure and quote step at the front of it |
| Who measures the room | You do, on site | The homeowner, on her phone, before you drive |
| Invoicing, scheduling and a time clock | Yes | No |
| A measured room back from a cold lead | No | Yes |
| Where a price comes from | Your cost book plus supplier and labor data | Your own cost book, line by line |
These two are not competing for the same line in your budget.
You send a link instead of booking a visit. Ten seconds, and no negotiating over who is home on Tuesday.
Her own phone, her own time, nothing installed. Photos upload one at a time as she takes them.
Not a photo album and not just a shape. A scope brief, measurements and renders of the room.
Line by line, every quantity traceable to where it came from. Push the job into your CRM through Zapier and send the quote.
Two scans free up front, no card. Solo is 79 a month for one user and twenty scans. Crew is 149 for five users and sixty scans. Shop is 349 for unlimited users and two hundred scans. Extra scans are four dollars each and nothing locks when you run out.
A job one of your own people captures on site is not metered at all, on any plan. Yearly billing is two months free. Founding pricing stays locked as long as the account stays active and it closes on November 30.
No. It does not invoice, schedule, run a time clock or answer your phone. If you need a business system, buy one. This fills the gap in front of it.
Not quite. Ask any tool in that category one question. Does it measure the room, or does it draft an estimate from dimensions you supply. Theirs drafts. Ours measures first, through the homeowner's phone, then prices the scope against your book.
No, and the distinction matters. AI reads the room and writes the scope. The number is arithmetic against your own cost book with every quantity traceable. Nobody blends your market into an average.
No. A recent iPhone Pro measures with LiDAR. Every other phone falls back to photos plus room sizes typed in by the homeowner. Anything claiming to measure off a snapshot is selling you a guess.
Through Zapier. That is the integration there is, and it is enough to land a job in your CRM.
