RoomScan Pro draws a floor plan while you walk a room with your phone. That is useful. It is also still a drive out. ScanToScope sends the homeowner a link and the room comes back measured, written up and priced against your own cost book.
No card. Nothing for the homeowner to install.
Search for a RoomScan Pro alternative and you get nine pages of the same thing. SourceForge, SoftwareSuggest, SaaSHub, AlternativeTo, a CubiCasa landing page. Every list names more scanning apps. CubiCasa, Polycam, magicplan, Canvas, which is called Twindo now.
They are all real tools and some of them beat RoomScan Pro at its own job. But look at what none of those lists mention. Every single app on them runs on a phone that you or somebody on your payroll is holding, standing in the room, after the drive.
If you went looking because the scanning was fiddly, those lists will help you. If you went looking because you are tired of driving across town to measure a job you may not win, they will not.
RoomScan Pro is an iPhone and iPad app that produces a floor plan of a room. On an iPhone with a LiDAR sensor it scans. It has been around for years, it is cheap, and for a quick sketch of a space you are already standing in it does the job.
We do not produce a drafted floor plan. If a plan drawing is the deliverable you need, buy a plan tool and keep it. This page is about a different problem.
A floor plan tells you the room is twelve by fourteen. It does not tell you what the job costs. The dimensions come back and then you sit down at the kitchen table and do the real work, which is turning a shape into quantities and quantities into money.
That gap is where the evening goes, and no scanning app on page one closes it. ScanToScope does. A vision model reads the photographs that came back and a model writes the scope brief. Then the price is arithmetic against your own cost book, line by line, with every quantity traceable to where it came from. Your prices, not ours, and not an average of somebody else's.
| RoomScan Pro | ScanToScope | |
|---|---|---|
| Who captures the room | You or your crew, on site | The homeowner, before you drive out |
| What the other person installs | The app, on a supported iPhone or iPad | Nothing. It opens in her browser |
| What comes back | A floor plan of the room | Measurements, a written scope brief and renders |
| Where a price comes from | You work it out afterwards | Your own cost book, line by line |
| A phone that is not a recent iPhone Pro | Limited or no scan | Photos plus typed room sizes |
Two tools, two jobs. Keep RoomScan Pro for the sketch if you want it.
One link, from your phone or your desk. She opens it on whatever phone she has.
A recent iPhone Pro measures the room with LiDAR. Any other phone falls back to photos plus typed room sizes. Photos upload one at a time as she takes them, so a weak signal in a back bedroom does not lose the lot.
A vision model reads the photos, a model writes the scope brief, and renders are generated so she can see what she is buying.
The scope prices against your own cost book. Edit what you want, send the quote, and push the job into your CRM through Zapier.
Two scans free and no card. Solo is 79 a month for one user and twenty scans. Crew is 149 for five users and sixty scans. Shop is 349 for unlimited users and two hundred scans. Extra scans are four dollars and nothing locks when you run out.
A job one of your own people captures on site is not metered at all, on any plan. That is what the seats are for. Yearly billing is two months free, and founding pricing stays locked for as long as the account stays active. It closes on November 30.
No. She taps the link and the capture runs in her phone browser. That is the whole difference between this and every app on the alternative lists.
Then there is no LiDAR scan and it falls back to photos plus room sizes she types in. You still get the photos, the scope brief and a price, and you still did not drive out. It is less precise than a LiDAR scan and the job tells you which one you got.
Yes, and those jobs are not metered on any plan. Plenty of people use a self capture on the jobs they have already won and a sent link on the leads they have not.
No. You get measurements, a scope brief, renders and a price. If you need a drafted plan to hand an architect, use a plan tool for that part.
Yours. You load your cost book and the number is arithmetic against it. The AI reads the room and writes the scope. It does not set the price.
Pick the next lead you were not sure was worth the drive. Send the link instead. Two scans are free and there is no card.
