Alternatives

A SimplyWise alternative, and the question to ask any AI estimator

Half the results for this search are about receipts and expenses, because SimplyWise is four different apps wearing one name. If it is the estimator you want to replace, there is one question worth asking first.

Two scans free. No card.

Which SimplyWise are you replacing

Their own site shows four apps under the one name. A cost estimator, a receipt scanner, an AI receptionist and a mileage tracker. That is a reasonable set of tools for a small business owner and it explains why a search for an alternative returns expense tracking comparisons next to construction software.

So the lists are not wrong, they are just answering a question nobody asked clearly. If you want somewhere else to scan receipts, this page is no use to you at all. If what you tried was the cost estimator, carry on.

Three questions to ask any AI estimator

1

Where does the price come from

A model that has read a lot of jobs, a regional cost database, or your own book. Those give three different numbers, and only one of them is yours to defend when the homeowner asks why.

2

Who measured the room

An estimate built from a typed description inherits whatever you guessed about the dimensions. If nobody measured anything, a confident number is still a guess in a nice font.

3

What happens when it is wrong

You can walk a quantity back through arithmetic and show your work. You cannot walk it back through a model. That matters on the change order, not on the demo.

Where our number comes from

Here is the line we hold to, and it is the reason this page exists at all. AI reads the room and writes the scope. Your own prices make the number.

In practice that means the homeowner opens a link on her own phone with nothing to install. A recent iPhone Pro measures the room with LiDAR while she walks it. Any other phone falls back to photos plus the room sizes she types in, and photos upload one at a time as she takes them. A vision model reads those photographs. A model writes the scope brief. Renders come from an image model.

Then the clever part stops. The scope is priced against your cost book, line by line, and every quantity traces back to where it came from. No model decides what you charge for a shower valve in your market. Your book does. That is a duller promise than an instant estimate, and it is the only version you can stand behind in somebody's kitchen.

Questions contractors ask

What does SimplyWise actually do?

Their site lists four apps under one name. A cost estimator described as AI powered and aimed at construction quotes, a receipt scanner, an AI receptionist and a mileage tracker. That spread is why the search results for an alternative are half about expenses.

Is ScanToScope the same kind of product?

No, and that is the honest answer rather than the convenient one. Theirs writes an estimate from what you tell it. Ours gets the room measured by the person who lives in it, then prices the scope against your book. If what you want is faster typing, we are the wrong tool.

Does AI set your prices?

No. AI reads the photographs and writes the scope. The price is arithmetic against your cost book. We keep those two jobs apart deliberately, because a price you cannot trace is a price you cannot defend.

What if the homeowner's phone is old?

She takes photos and types the room sizes in. We do not measure from a photograph and we will not claim to.

What does it cost?

Two scans free with no card. Solo is 79 a month for one user and 20 scans. Crew is 149 for five users and 60 scans. Shop is 349 for unlimited users and 200 scans. Extra scans are 4 dollars each, and a job your own crew captures on site is not metered on any plan.
